About the Project
Links:
Yordle is a word-guessing game that challenges players to figure out a hidden 5-letter word. Here’s how it works:
- Red letters indicate an invalid letter — it’s not part of the word.
- Blue letters mean the letter exists in the word but is in the wrong position.
- Green letters signify the correct letter in the correct position.
Each day brings a new challenge, making Yordle the perfect way to train your brain and expand your vocabulary.
Purpose
The creation of Yordle was driven by the desire to learn NextJS, TypeScript and Shadcn, along with the goal of challenging myself to build a fun and engaging game. Developing a game like Wordle was the perfect project to deepen my understanding of web development and explore interactive elements. Yordle is both a personal learning experience and a fun tool for players to test their word-guessing skills. It reflects my passion for building things that are both useful and enjoyable for others.
Technologies Used
Yordle is built with the latest and most efficient technologies to provide a seamless user experience. The game’s front-end is developed using NextJS and TypeScript, ensuring fast performance and SEO-friendly architecture. The design and UI elements are styled using Shadcn, a component library that simplifies the creation of beautiful, accessible interfaces. The backend is powered by MongoDB, which securely stores player data and game progress.
